On October 9, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, paid a special visit to Harbin Engineering University (HEU) and met with HEU President Liu Zhigang with the aim of deepening the friendship and cooperation between the two sides. At the time, Yuchai campus recruitment campaign in 2011 was progressing in full swing at the university.  Liu said during the meeting, Yuchais great attention to talent and school-enterprise cooperation shows Yuchais senior executives are farsighted, and there are few such thoughtful domestic enterprises as Yuchai!

HEUs leaders such as HEU Deputy Party Secretary Wei Lin, Vice President Yang Desen and Xia Guihua as well as Yuchais leaders such as Deputy Party Secretary Zhang Jiasha and Chairman Assistant Zhang Zhengqing attended the meeting.

HEU was ranked among the first group of national key universities with graduate schools included in the national 211 Project, as well as a major base for talent training and scientific research in the field of shipbuilding industry, naval armament, ocean development and nuclear application. The university is particularly strong in ship power R & D and talent training. In 2009, Liu visited Yuchai and talked with Yan on cooperation matters, marking the first step of the cooperation between Yuchai and HEU. Months apart, Yan was invited for a return visit to HEU, marking a new level of the cooperation between the two sides.

At the symposium, Yan said an enterprise must go ahead in talent reserves in order to grow healthily and soundly. Yuchai has grown fast and kept expanding in recent years, leading to increasingly robust demands for talents. Talents cultivated by enterprise alone cannot meet the talent demand for corporate development, and enterprises must rely on universities and colleges for outstanding talent cultivation. The large-power marine engine projects of Ziyang Yuchai and Zhuhai Yuchai are vital to Yuchais future, Yuchais large-power marine engine projects need the support of a strong talent team, but Yuchai is exactly short of talents in this field. As HEU stands out in ship power R & D and talent cultivation, Yuchai longs to establish good strategic relations with HEU in marine power talent cultivation and maintain the relations permanently.

Liu said that Yuchai and HEU, at the south and north ends of the motherland respectively, have inferior geographical locations but have grown well, which is attributable to corporate culture and campus culture. Yuchais industrial layout and corporate culture is great illumination to HEU. Though the two sides have not known each other for long, the cooperation are sincere and feelings are deep. Putting school-enterprise cooperation in such an important strategic place has shown Yuchais far sight, Yuchais future will be promising. Based on the reality, looking into the future, HEU hope to establish a longstanding partnership with Yuchai and extend the cooperation to other fields.

Headed by Yuchai Deputy Party Secretary Zhang Jiasha, Yuchai campus recruitment team for 2011 arrived at HEU early on October 6 and set to the heated campus recruitment.
