On the afternoon of October 9, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) held the scholarship awarding ceremony at the Navigation Multifunctional Hall. 26 students including Zhang Rui and Wei Qun were awarded a scholarship of RMB 3,000 each from Yuchai.

To contribute to the development of HEUs educational cause, support impoverished outstanding students to complete studies, motivate them to study hard, develop in an all-round manner and become well-educated to serve the country, reward outstanding students with a strong capacity for scientific and technological innovation, and encourage and support them to actively carry out scientific and technological innovation, Yuchai Group set up a scholarship at HEU. The scholarship was a major move after the establishment of a partnership between Yuchai and HEU, the essence of the friendly cooperation between the two sides as well as another case of Yuchai performing social responsibility.

Zhang Jiasha, deputy Party secretary of Yuchai Group, addressed the awarding ceremony, saying that the scholar was not only the help and motivation to impoverished students of fine qualities and scholar, but also the results of the friendly cooperation between Yuchai and HEU, hoping that the scholar winners would study hard to repay the society after graduation. In the address, Zhang warmly invited outstanding graduates from HEU to join Yuchai to contribute to the invigoration of the national industry, pledging that Yuchai would continue to support the development of HEUs educational cause and expand the fields of cooperation between the two sides, hoping that both sides would cement communication in an effort to open up a win-win road of broader cooperative fields and closer ties.

Yang Desen, vice president of HEU, said in the address that Yuchai is headquartered in Yulin, but Yuchai has had industrial operations in many developed cities in the country, has extended from the southwest of the country to the northeastern frontier and gone global, showing that Yuchais leaders are farsighted and ambitious. The scholar represents Yuchais great trust in and strong support to HEU. All the teachers and students admired the foresight and sagacity of Yuchais leaders.

Wang Hao, a representative of the scholarship winners, said emotionally, I am a student under successive undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs, despite outstanding academic performance, my study and life was greatly disturbed by financial difficulty. From the first top scholarship from the university to Yuchai scholarship today, I was strongly supported by the university and Yuchai so that I could concentrate on study. I will study hard and strive to join Yuchai after graduation to repay Yuchai and the society. Zhang awarded bonuses and certificates to the 26 winners of Yuchai scholarship.
