On October 29, the 6th Zhenxing National Young Occupational Skill Contest (NYOSC) wound up in Shenyang. 225 young workers and more than 90 enterprise delegations from 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and a wide range of industries, participated in the five-day contest. Through intense competition, the champions of the three categories-bench worker, mechanical equipment installer and computer network administrator were unveiled. Yuchai fielded three young workers as members of the Guangxi delegation and achieved outstanding results. Zhang Xuebin from Yuchai Technological Equipment Plant was ranked 9th in the category of bench worker, Chen Qin from Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited finished 11th in the category of computer network administrator, Chen Tangbiao from Yuchai Second Engine Plant was placed 12th in the category of mechanical equipment installer, and they helped the Guangxi delegation win the eighth place in team competition.

The contest is a national first-class competition jointly sponsored by the CYL Central Committee and Ministry of Labor and Social Security with the aim of deepening the implementation of the Young Skill Invigoration Plan, exploring and cultivating more high-skill young talents, motivating and guiding young technicians to learn and practice skills, grow and succeed on their posts to contribute to corporate reform and development. The contest set up three categories-computer network administrator, bench worker and mechanical equipment installer, of which the last two categories made their debut, reflecting the clear-cut features of the times.
In the lead up to the contest, Yuchai training center, League committee and technician association made elaborate arrangements on such aspects as contestant selection and training. Thanks to full preparations and strict requirements, Yuchais contestants achieved results much better than before, setting off a new wave of learning skills for success among Yuchais young workers.
