As the Asian Games drew near, the Phase 3 work of Yuchai Games support team entered the countdown from October 25.

With the delivery of the last batch of 550 vehicles with Yuchai National IV LNG engines to Guangzhou on November 5, and the holding of the "ceremony for the launch of new energy and barrier-free public buses and the charging station in the University Town" on November 8, everything has been set for the transport support to the Games.

In the lead up to the opening of Games, Yuchai focused on three aspects:

I Hybrid vehicle support

All the 114 hybrid vehicles manufactured by the bus plant of GAGC have been delivered to public transport companies. To ensure the normal operations of hybrid systems and engines, Yuchai support team will send service staff for  bus operation follow-up and routine vehicle inspection on bus lines every day, has established a mobile team of 8 members to tackle emergent and tough problems, and has intensified hybrid service training to service outlets.

II Main security checkpoint and service point support

Yuchai has sent three teams of six members to the Asian Games Towns for security check assistance and work teams to key service points, including four principal engineers and technicians, intensified security check by establishing a strong service team made up of experienced service staff from Shunhe Service Outlet in Jiangmen and Shunchang Service Outlet in Dongguan for vehicle check and failure handling instructions. Besides, Yuchai has sent staff for technical support to bus service outlets in Xinyaonan, Pazhou, Huangcun, Jubei, Zhuanchang and Huangpu.

III Key Check of New Arrivals

Yuchai support team checked engines of the new vehicles delivered to public transport companies one by one to ensure that the engines were in perfect conditions, duly and properly analyzed and tackled arising faults, and studied out solutions to batch problems in 24 hours.

Even when traffic is smooth, it takes about 100 minutes to deliver parts from the parts center depot to Panyu, thus delaying distribution. For this reason, Guangzhou Monopoly Co., Ltd. established a secondary parts depot to store daily parts at East Ring Road in Panyu, and prepared two distribution vehicles to deliver parts in 40 minutes. The distribution and service teams will live together, work collaboratively, and make communication in parts reserves, status and distribution every day.

On the night of November 11, the support to the opening ceremony of the Games entered the final sprint. All the members of the support team worked around the clock to ensure every vehicle was in good conditions.

When the support team was making intensive preparations, Zhang Ting, commander in chief of Games support and deputy general manager of Yuchai Sales Co., Ltd., arrived in Guangzhou for work supervision. Together with Huang Weibin, assistant to general manager of Games support work, Zhang  headed to all support points and sites for work inspection, and saw Yuchai's service staff involved in Games service support to boost their morale.

With the lighting of the Games flame on November 12, Games support has entered into the stage of all-round support, Yuchai support team will renew efforts to ensure the normal operations of Yuchai engines during the Games, add to the brilliance of Games and win glory for Yuchai.
