Culture is the spirit and soul of a nation as well as a strong impetus for national development and invigoration. On November 23, 2010, Guangxi Corporate Culture Construction Seminar was held in Nanning, with over 100 attendees, including leaders of state-owned assets supervision and administration commissions of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as well as all the cities and counties of Guangxi. At the seminar, Yang Chaolin, sub-inspector of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, made a key speech; companies like Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd., Liuzhou Wulin Motors Co., Ltd. and Guangxi Road & Bridge Construction Co., Ltd. shared their experience in corporate culture construction.
Yang stressed that corporate transformation posed new and higher requirements for corporate culture construction in the new period and situation, and that culture had increasingly become an important source for strengthening corporate cohesion and stimulating corporate creativity as well as a major factor for building corporate core competitiveness. To keep growing, an enterprise must establish an advanced culture meeting the requirements of the times and suiting the law of self development. To improve the capability of corporate culture construction, an enterprise must keep to the correct guideline, extensively carry out education in ideal, belief, national and corporate conditions, situation and policy, actively adapt to new changes in the corporate development environment and new demands of leading cadres for spiritual and cultural life, and advance corporate culture construction with the spirit of reform and innovation.
The seminar required that all enterprises should advance corporate culture construction, start early, grasp work requirements, vigorously fulfill corporate culture construction based on the characteristics of production operation centers and the industry, and make concerted efforts to promote corporate development.
At the seminar, He Xiaoyu, director of the Publicity Department of Yuchai Group, interpreted the characteristics of Yuchai's cultural construction from five aspects-"intangible way-building cultural competitiveness", "integration of humans with enterprise-upholding human orientation", "green development-acting as a social citizen", "harmony-practicing cultural integration" and "unity of knowledge and action-emphasizing cultural construction". Yuchai's experience in corporate construction was praised by the superior leaders and attendees.

"Green" is Yuchai's outlook on responsibility, which guides Yuchai in taking a road of green industrial development, taking upon itself to provide cost-effective green power and machinery, being China's largest mobile pollution source controller, the leader in Chinese green power, the pacesetter in using diesel on Chinese cars as well as a contributor to material and energy saving in China, reflects the basic requirements of the scientific outlook on development, and goes with the trend of the times. For years, Yuchai has kept ahead in green power R & D and diesel engine emission control at home.
Yuchai is an independent engine manufacturer. Product characteristics decide that Yuchai must gain an insight into integration, and establish strategic partnerships with upstream and downstream machinery plants for reciprocity and win-win. Therefore, Yuchai pays special attention to uniting with suppliers and machinery plants with the cultural concept of win-win, and injects the corporate culture into the consortiums and service agencies of Yuchai by various means.
