On December 18, C & C joined hands with Yuchai United Power (YUP) for the brand release and product launch ceremony in Wuhu, Anhui. At 11 a.m., C & C flagship model U460, equipped with YUP 6K12 engine, ran slowly off the assembly line of the C & C plant, kicking off the models launch at a price of RMB 688,000. Tens of domestic media outlets covered the grand event.
The first C & C truck launched
Chen Shulong, secretary of the CPC Wuhu Municipal Committee; Yang Jingnong, mayor of Wuhu; Yin Tongyue, chairman and general manager of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. and chairman of C & C Trucks Co., Ltd. (C & C); and Li Yinhui, vice president of China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd. and vice chairman of C & C jointly started the brand release device to announce the release of two brands-C & C and YUP.

More than 1,000 attendees, including Yuchais leaders like Ning Xingyong and Zhong Yuwei, deputy general managers of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.; Wang Hong, chief accountant of Yuchai Group; Lin Zhiqiang, president of Yuchai Engineering Research Institute (YERI); Cai Xiaohong and Tan Guirong, vice presidents of YERI, Wuhus leaders at all levels, as well as staff representatives of truck distributors, service providers, automotive financial institutions, core parts suppliers, customer representatives, C & C and YUP, witnessed the brilliant moment. The attendees watched the soul-stirring video on the manufacturing process of the first C & C truck as well as its outstanding performance in 1,000,000-kilometer tests in special road conditions, at high and low temperatures, and on plateaus.
In the afternoon, C & C and YUP held a press conference on the first floor of United Building. Liang Heping, Tang Gang, Tu Xiaoyue and C & C Deputy General Manager Shen Yangbo, elaborated on the characteristics and selling points of C & C and YUP for tens of media outlets, unveiling the mysterious product and the story behind product launch.

U460, crafted by C & C, is a flagship model of C & C as well as a representative work of UE platform. The cab, in four-point full-floating design and unique frame optimization structure, is light and high-strength, and meets the requirements of ECE-R29 for head-on collision, side collision, top compression and frontal drilling resistance. With integrated doors, side impact beams, reinforced door beams, super-large front windshield and full rear-view mirror, the model is currently one of the domestic safest heavy tractors. The YUP 6K12 engine for the model has a maximum power of 460hp, a peak torque of 2,200Nm, a B10 life of 1.6 million kilometers, and is up to Euro IV and V standards (SCR). The engine is matched by the fully intelligent AMT transmission. With easy and practical full intelligent automatic transmission, the model is one of Chinas few heavy truck models with AMT transmission.
YC6K engine series has emphasized high quality since birth. It was positioned as an energy-conserving and high-reliability world-class engine, was developed independently based on the platforms of world-famous new-generation similar engines, integrated the latest technical results of the world, and has owned over 30 patents for technical invention. It applied reliability growth technology in the engine industry for the first time, broke through the reliability weakness of China manufacturing; originally introduced the technologies of accurate combustion and electronic control, reverse horizontal flow cooling, high-strength material and high-efficiency engine cylinder inside brake, was innovated and applied successfully, boosted the useful lives of engines, was up to Euro VI emission standards and the advanced standards of the latest engines manufactured massively in Europe in 2012.

YC6K is far ahead of domestic similar engines in technical indicators, and ranks top among world-class engines in key indicators such as fuel consumption and weight in the world: the minimum fuel consumption and rated point fuel consumption are 5% to 8% lower than the advanced world level; with the main structural parts made of high-strength vermicular graphite cast iron, the model is 15% lighter than traditional engines.
YUP boasts the most advanced and reliable production line, which is aimed at green manufacturing and zero defect, uses world-famous, high-precision and energy-conserving key equipment, comprehensively applies online detection technology, error-proof technology, safety and environmental protection technology and information technology, and highly integrates advanced manufacturing and detecting equipment with intelligent quality control systems, to make every product and procedure consistent in characteristics, thus ensuring the high quality of YC6K series.
According to the plan, C & C will introduce 21 model and over 600 pedigrees to the market in 2011, which will cover fields such as traction, freight, engineering and special purposes and be priced from RMB 180,000 to RMB 800,000, to fully meet the demands of different consumers. In the future, it will develop 330 service providers nationwide, of which 220 have contracted. With the inclusion of the franchised service outlets, its services have basically covered all areas apart from Taiwan. Remarkably, C & D plans to establish 100 directly integrated service stations nationwide, which will offer a series of repair services covering vehicle, compartment assembling, engine, transmission and axle, and provide timely and fast solutions to vehicle problems. C & C grants the domestic highest warranty period of 30 months plus 360,000 kilometers. Besides, it will introduce life cycle services and an optional service pack of 36 months plus 360,000 kilometers (Service 360).
To lower purchase thresholds, C & C has also introduced a full set of perfect financial support plans. It lowered purchase thresholds and eased operating pressure by reducing down payments and monthly installments, and offered linking services through linked companies in some areas to establish a pioneering platform. Through the innovation in marketing mode, C & C changed the mode of earning by heavy truck selling and after-sale services in conventional heavy truck sales, but combined customers and enterprises into a community of interest, thus helping customers start business and filling the market gap of RMB 450,000 to RMB 700,000 between homemade heavy trucks and import ones.
