With the extinguishing of the torch of the Asian Para Games (APG) at the Guangzhou Olympic Sports Center on December 19, the 1st APG and Yuchais Games support task were wound up!

After a brief joy with the windup of the support to the Guangzhou Asian Games on November 27, Yuchai Games support team rekindled the passion to devote themselves into APG support. During APG, over 95% of the service vehicles were equipped with Yuchai engines. The team maintained a brilliant record of zero complaint and zero failure, and rounded off the support task.

During APG, Yuchai National IV gas engines made their debut in Guangzhou, making support more difficult. To satisfy the needs of spectators for traveling to watch games, Guangzhou opened 14 temporary public transport lines as well as eight express Games lines based on the existing lines. All the 550 barrier-free buses deployed on these lines were equipped with Yuchai National IV gas engines, and just went into operation before APGs opening; an extra some 200 National IV diesel engine vehicles for media transport was also a support emphasis during APG. To fulfill APG vehicle support, Yuchai support team continued to carry forward the fine tradition of support work during the Asian Games, completed the communication with the Guangzhou Municipal Transport Committee (GMTC) and Guangzhous public transport companies earliest, deployed the key service outlets for APG vehicles based on actualities, and accomplished full vehicle coverage and fast problem solution by innovative means such as stationary inspection, night inspection, technical expert diagnosis and mobile kit. Under the leadership of Yuchais leaders, the Asian Games and APG support work, spearheaded by the customer service center and coordinated by all departments, was planned early and organized elaborately with sufficient resources.

Barrier-free buses with Yuchai gas engines

Early on January 12, the Games support team had, based on the requirements of GMTC and public transport companies, collected the information of the key vehicles for support, fixed the major locations for support, and completed the inspection of all barrier-free APG buses two days earlier. Before APGs opening, the service staff headed to the bus service plant every day to assist in inspecting the National IV diesel engine vehicles for media transport during APG to ensure the normal operations of the vehicles.

To ensure smooth transport support during the opening ceremony of APG, the support staff, including Pang Shaoli, Huang Zhifeng and Li Jiafeng, was sent by the customer service center of the sales company to the general bus station at the Guangzhou Sports Olympic Center for separate stationing at the noon of December 12, where they inquired about and handled the problems reported by drivers until the end of the opening ceremony of APG, thus smoothly completing the support to barrier-free buses.

Two Games, equally brilliant; two Yuchai support campaigns, equally impressive. During APG, Yuchai Games support team continued to carry forward the spirit of struggle to perfectly complete the technical support to APG.

Following APG, Yuchai was unanimously praised by GMTC and public transport companies again. Through the support to the Olympic Games and Asian Games, Yuchai has accumulated much experience in transport support to super large games, laying a solid foundation for the involvement of Yuchai engines in grand foreign events!
