Yuchai is gaining vitality and momentum, leaving a great space for imagination: 60-year-old Yuchai is not senile or weak at all, but greets the year 2011 and meet new challenges in a grand manner, with clear objectives and in firm steps!

The past five years saw a great number of catastrophic disasters, great tragedies, happy events and grant celebrations. Yuchai keenly experienced the rule of national prosperity boosts corporate growth-without the strong nation, without the strong enterprise. When snowstorms, Wenchuan earthquake and Zhouqu mud flow hit, Yuchai worshipped and respected nature; amid the serious global financial crisis, Yuchai knew how to deal with the crisis and turn the crisis into an opportunity; the Beijing Olympics fulfilled the centurial dream of Chinese people and motivated Yuchai to shoulder the heavy duty of invigorating the national industry; thanks to the two iconic historical starting points-standing up and becoming better-off- the grand celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 30th anniversary of the reform and opening up, China has a say and gains respect in G20 today, Yuchais aspiration to be the largest mobile pollution source controller is exactly its best footnote; the success of the Shanghai Expo and Guangzhou Asian Games announced the advent of a flourishing age from a different perspective and witnessed another side of Chinas economic miracle.

Yuchai is a miracle creator. In terms of figures, we have recreated a new Yuchai twice the size of the one at the end of the tenth five-year period, such a height is not only a figure, but also the collective wisdom of Yuchai, the result of painstaking efforts and the effect of the new development road. In terms of concept, Green Development & Harmony Win-win is the core concept reestablished by Yuchai in the new period, which guided Yuchai in opening up a road of green, excellence, harmony and win-win, and is thus of general demonstrative significance. We will keep practicing, exploring the essence of the concept, enriching it and making it brilliant. In terms of teams, Yuchai built a high-caliber cadre team, high-performance management team and creative labor group, established the objective of building three-dimensional, professional and international talent teams, and thus developed distinctive and tough teams. The technical team, marketing team, management team, production team, technician team and service team have all displayed their strong vitality and creativity on the great stage of Yuchai. No best, only better, team pursuit and corporate pursuit combine, personal value and corporate value integrate, such teams are the most precious wealth of enterprises and the capital for corporate development. In terms of environment, we take the theory of opportunities rather than the theory of decisions. In the same environment, if other enterprises grow faster than us, we have yet to improve internally, because opportunities favor prepared and capable people only. During the fast growth of the auto industry in the eleventh five-year period, Yuchai performed brilliantly with more gain than loss, but we should draw a lesson from the small loss.

The success in the eleventh five-year period will fade away into the current of the twelfth five-year development. In 2011, the main line of seeking development and opening a new layout has been mapped out, but according to the basic orientation of positivity, steadiness, prudence and flexibility, the keyword is the basic requirement-transformation, which conforms to the theme of scientific development. How will Yuchai transform, develop, open a new layout and recognize the volatile environment? Managers at all levels should plan ahead, take preemptive opportunities, take precautions, seek possibilities in impossibilities and make the best of possibilities, try their best to shoulder their responsibilities, withstand the tests of market, time and ordeal, and develop the traits of persistence, intrepidity, toughness and invincibility.

The 100-billion plan of Yuchai in the twelfth five-year period is a heavy trust from the Party committee and government, a demand for corporate development, as well as the result of collective wisdom and professional and meticulous argumentation. We have every reason, full confidence, strong support and a solid foundation to fulfill the plan. We believe there will be strong support for Yuchais years of dream of expansion; the group sharpens competitiveness constantly, and has sufficient product, technology, talent and management reserves; Yuchai series will take initial shape, the oriented corporate culture will form, and Yuchai will make great strides into the ranks of world-famous brands. Remarkably, talent team building in the twelfth five-year period is not inferior to any major project in progress, and can even be valued as the soul project of enterprises and the top priority of all business work. The accomplishment of the objective of RMB 100 billion will definitely promote the all-round progress of the enterprise and push it to a new stage.

The year 2011 coincides with the centennial of the Revolution of 1911, the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 60th anniversary of the founding of Yuchai, the group has sounded the bugle to march towards the objective of RMB 100 billion in the twelfth five-year period and top RMB 40 billion at the first stage, and has fixed the principles of securing the opening, grasping projects and cultivating advantages. In short, securing the opening is comprehensively implementing the twelfth five-year strategy to top RMB 40 billion in the opening year; grasping projects is launching or putting into operation some projects to gain momentum for corporate development; cultivating advantages is performing the excellence cultivation project to comprehensively sharpen the corporate core competitiveness. The principles are brief but meaningful, and fulfillment and action is the key. To this, we should avoid empty talk, honor commitments, deal with the new situation prudently and conduct elaborate operation to ensure the healthy development of the enterprise.
