On January 4, 2011, Yuchai Chairman Yan Ping and President Gu Tangsheng visited Yuchai Zhuhai Marine Power Co., Ltd. (YZMP). Zhong Shijian, mayor of Zhuhai; Liu Xiaolong, first deputy mayor of Zhuhai; Jiao Lansheng, Party secretary of Doumen District; Liang Yuandong, chief of Doumen District; and other leaders inspected the construction site of YZMP. YZMP Chairman Jiang Shihong and Executive Deputy General Manager Hu Xuenan showed the visitors around the site.

Despite the haze and violent sea wind, the construction site was in full swing. Jiang briefed Yan and Zhong on the project progress. Now, the soft foundation treatment and filling works of the overall plant has basically been completed, and part of the civil works (underground and foundation works) of the assembly & test shop have been completed. Steel structure hoisting will commence in January 2011, and the steel structure construction of the shop will wind up in March. According to the current progress, pre-assembly is scheduled for June 2011, and the first engine will be delivered as scheduled at the end of this year.

After listening to Jiangs report, Yan and Zhong expressed great satisfaction with the construction progress. Zhong said that the Zhuhai Municipal Peoples Government and all the departments will spare no efforts to support YZMPs construction and production and solve its construction problems.

Subsequently, Yan came to YZMPs temporary work place and held a seminar with YZMPs consultants and staff above the management level. When learning that these consultants are top industry experts and many key staff is outstanding talents in the industry, he expressed full confidence in the prospect of the Zhuhai project.

At the seminar, Yan noted that talent is the core of corporate development, that YZMP should value human care and corporate culture building and retain talents by various means, and that YZMP would solve the problem of talent housing in the coming two or three years, stressing that a stable talent team is the most solid foundation for the development of YZMP. Based on the actuality of YZMP, he encouraged YZMPs staff to make pioneering efforts, work in a diligent and devoted manner, grow with YZMP and endeavor to build it into a domestic and overseas first-class brand. He added that when YZMPs first engine went offline, the company should register every in-service staff as meritorious staff and grant policy incentives to these staff, and establish a long-acting mechanism to share the value of corporate growth with meritorious staff.

Yan stressed that YZMP enjoys a favorable foundation for development, and would have a bright future with the close attention and strong support of Yuchai and under the leadership of the internationally famous brand Wartsila.

Yans speech inspired every staff present. Jiang stated that they would live up to the ardent expectation of the group and Yan and complete project construction on schedule to repay the shareholders, municipal government and all staff with outstanding results and make a greater contribution to the business of Yuchai.

Gu also praised YZMPs project progress, and undertook to give the best policy support to help YZMP become the first marine power brand.
