On the morning of February 10, accompanied by Jiao Lansheng, secretary of the CPC Doumen District Committee and Liang Yuandong, chief of Doumen District, Zhong Shijian, deputy secretary of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee and mayor of Zhuhai, headed to the construction field of Yuchai Zhuhai Marine Power Co., Ltd. (YZMP) to see its staff and constructors and give out red envelopes. Deputy General Manager Yan Yiyong, Huang Zhenping, Chen Hailin and other leaders of YZMP warmly received the municipal leaders on the construction field.

Zhong sent New Year blessings to the staff and constructors on behalf of the municipal committee and government, wishing them a fresh start in the New Year. Yan briefed Zhong on the project progress. The field launched construction early on the fourth day of the New Year, advanced the project rapidly, made new changes almost every day, and completed the groundwork and equipment foundation construction of the assembly & test workshop. Part of the hoisting of the columns of steel-structured plant has been completed, and the construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed in late March. The R & D office building and shift building have been launched, are proposed to be completed in May and put into operation in June. As for the objective of completing construction in June, testing the first batch of engines in October and delivering the first engine in late November, Yan believed that YZMP would definitely achieve it with the unremitting efforts of Yuchais constructors and the strong support of the municipal government and Yuchai Group.

Zhong hoped that Yuchai staff would renew efforts, accelerate the progress, round off project construction and go into production on schedule in an effort to build YZMP into an advanced, large and high-caliber diesel engine manufacturing base in China.
