On February 18, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. and Guangxi University (GXU) concluded a strategic framework agreement on projects such as united laboratory establishment and talent introduction and exchange, laying a solid foundation for promoting product R & D and deepening cooperation.

The signing ceremony took place at Junwu Hall, GXU. Yuchais leaders including Chairman Yan Ping, Chief Engineer Shen Jie, General Manager Assistant Lin Zhiqiang, as well as GXUs leaders including President Tang Jiliang, Vice President Chen Baoshan and General Office Director Zhao Tie were present. Since the 1960s, Yuchai and GXU have been in close cooperation and developed deep friendship in frequent talent and research exchanges. After the conclusion of the agreement, the two sides will carry out extensive cooperation in such aspects as united laboratory establishment, talent introduction, exchange and training, project application and achievement sharing, and placement of relatives of high-end talents to create a broader platform for technological research and development. The united laboratory is scheduled to be inaugurated in the year, which will promote the research levels of both sides as part of the key mechanical engineering laboratory of GXU and one of the R & D bases of Yuchai Engineering Research Institute (YERI).  

As for future cooperation, Yan noted that Yuchai had wound up the two-flank domestic industrial layout in recent years and corporate development would demand strong talent support during the twelfth five-year period. As GXU is an R & D institution and Yuchai is an applied one, the two sides can complement with each other congenitally. In particular, the construction of YERI Nanning Base created a platform for extensive cooperation. Hopefully, the two sides will intensify communication and promote product R & D and talent training and introduction to contribute to local economic development.

Tang admired Yuchais great efforts to promote industrial development, saying that as a regional research-oriented university, GXU has always integrated research with local economic development closely, the agreements conclusion will further the applications of research achievements and increase the universitys research level and academic level, thus boosting its soft strength.

So far, Yuchai has established united laboratories in combination with several universities including Brunel University, UK and Tianjin University at home to give talent and technical support for Yuchais product upgrading.
