Foundry is the foundation for the machine building industry. To draw upon the foundry theories and methods of developed countries, on February 19, Yuchai Foundry Society (YFS) and two doctors from Germany held a technical seminar themed by Green Foundry, Harmonious Foundry, Fine Foundry at Yuchai Training Center. Some 90 professionals and technicians from departments such as YFS, the foundry and the department of manufacturing technology were present.

Dr. Peter Klose and Dr. Albert Flotho are doctors in materials and internal combustion engine respectively, who work with Mercedes-Benz Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd. At the seminar, the attendees aired their ideas and views, had an extensive and in-depth discussion with the German doctors about issues such as the difference between the domestic foundry industry and its overseas counterpart, the trends and characteristics of modern foundry and Yuchais rejection rate of 1%, and analyzed and studied the issues from different aspects and perspectives. The seminar enhanced the attendees understanding, consolidated their confidence in shoring up Yuchais foundry business and gained a lot of opinions and suggestions of reference value

Before the seminar, the doctors visited the first workshop and body workshop of the foundry center, inquiring of the foundry professionals about Yuchais foundry level, production management and quality control.

According to the source, to facilitate foreign exchange, YFS is planning to establish a translation group to translate foreign foundry documents. The move has been well received by the members.
