On the afternoon of February 24, at the management cadre meeting in Yuchai, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, announced the decision on adjusting the leading body of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM). According to the decision: former Executive Deputy General Manager Wu Qiwei will work as acting general manager, former General Manager Li Tiansheng as Party secretary and former Party Secretary Liang Ping will be transferred to Yuchai Group.

At the meeting, Yan elaborated on the purpose, significance and background of the adjustment of YMs leading body and raised hope and requirements for the staff serving the posts, saying that the purpose of the adjustment is to optimize the structure of the leading body to make it more efficient, refined and professional, advance corporate development more effectively and promote the accomplishment of the twelfth five-year objective smoothly, hoping they would give full play to respective advantages on their new posts, make up deficiencies and cooperate harmoniously and sincerely to devote themselves to work with greater passion and efforts, make a good start for the accomplishment of YUchais twelfth five-year plan with a stronger sense of responsibility, mission and urgency, and make unremitting efforts to achieve the twelfth five-year business objective of Yuchai. Also, he stressed that the management cadre should love Yuchai, fully recognize their duties and work earnestly to ensure the steady and effective development of Yuchai.

Since joining Yuchai in 1989, Wu Qiwei has successively worked on production, sale and technical R & D. He was previously deputy executive general manager of YM in charge of the companys sales management. Since 2005, Wu has led the sales team in achieving brilliant results. From 2005 to 2010, YMs sales volume increased from 200,000 to 500,000 engines, and soared to 2,060,000 in the eleventh five-year period. In the meantime, the management mode and business level of the companys sales service team have increased significantly and gained praise from the industry and customer. Regarding the post of general manager, Wu pledged to set an example to the team, devote himself to work passionately, give full play to the strength of production, sales and technical forces, intensify reform and innovation, vigorously increase the level of business management of the company, work more efficiently and professionally, transcend himself and the past, and live up to expectations to ensure the opening success of the companys twelfth five-year objective.
