On March 29, FVK Annual Conference 2011 was held at Yuchai. 46 world-famous experts and professors at internal combustion engine experts and professors such as Franz Pischinger and Stefan Pischinger gathered in Yuchai. Dr. Li Qin, senior technical consultant to chairman of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., was present as a member of FVK.

FVK is composed of doctors tutored by two generations of Prof. Pischinger and some research personnel. Both professors are prestigious internal combustion engine masters with students all over the world, who, together with their students and FVK members, has made outstanding contributions to the international internal combustion industry. RWTH Aachen University is strong in science and engineering, has kept ahead in Germany in electronics and machine building, and has ranked among top three on the list of German universities. All the attending professors of the university are top experts in the world representing Germanys top manufacturing level and the worlds most advanced level of internal combustion engine design and development. So far, FVK has over 300 members. To bring the conference to China, Yuchai has made unremitting efforts for more than four years.

Prestigious German experts and professors at internal combustion engines gather in Yuchai

It is the debut of the conference in Asia. Speaking of the reason for choosing Yuchai to hold the conference, Prof. Stefan Pischinger, president of FEV, Germany, said one reason is that Yuchai is Chinas largest engine enterprise and China is the most promising auto market, and the other is that FVK has its member at Yuchai. In regard to the cooperation between FEV and Yuchai over the past years, Stefan said, Yuchais success is attributable to the cooperation with FEV as well as the great capacity of Yuchais R & D team. Yuchai took the lead to build National VI and V engines in China. Yuchai has exported products. Despite the concentration of exported products in developing countries, Yuchai will definitely enter European and American markets if it growing this way. Of course, Yuchai will further expand its market advantage in China and developing countries.

Li Tiansheng, Party secretary of YM, extended warm welcome to all the German experts, extended heartfelt thanks and paid high respects to world-famous internal combustion engine master Prof. Pischinger for his outstanding contributions to the development of the world internal combustion engine industry, cultivation of internal combustion engine talents, especially Yuchais product R & D, and sincerely hoped FVK will become Yuchais back-up. Franz Pischinger and Stefan Pischinger, farther and son, extended heartfelt thanks to Yuchais gracious invitation and good cooperation on behalf of FVK and FEV. Prof. Stefan Pischinger said, The bus that transported us from the airport to Yuchai was equipped with a powerful Yuchai engine, I would like to thank Yuchai again for creating such a good opportunity for us to share Yuchais joy of success.

FEV is a world leader in the field of internal combustion engine R & D as well as one of the worlds three major authoritative internal combustion R & D institutions that is mainly engaged in the technical R & D of engines and the manufacture of engine testing equipment. The relations between Prof. Franz Pischinger and Yuchai dates back to 1992, when FEV founded and led by Franz entered into a partnership with Yuchai in product development. With the unremitting efforts of both sides, products such as 6A, 6L and 6J were developed and extensively used in fields such as truck, bus, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, marine engine and generator, and 6L laid a solid foundation for the formulation of Chinas first National IV and V emission law. It can be said that whether Franz or FEV has formed an indissoluble bond and established deep friendship with Yuchai.

On the afternoon of March 29, the experts visited Yuchais engine laboratory, workshop and customer service center. Prof. Ludger Ruhkamp, Stefan Heuer and Martin Pischinger gave technical reports on how to accomplish future truck emission standards, NVH of modern truck engines and strategy of hybrid buses and trucks, and make technical exchanges with hundreds of engineering technicians of Yuchai.
