On April 1, 2010 National Conference on Commendation of Advanced Logistics Enterprises was held in Beijing. Guangxi Yuchai Logistics Group (GYL) was listed among national advanced logistics enterprises in 2010 as Guangxis only logistics enterprise winning the award.
GYL is the nucleus of the logistics and automobile trade sector of Yuchai Group, successfully transited from corporate logistics to logistics enterprise in the eleventh five-year period, from a forwarder under the marketization strategy of Yuchai Group to a third-party logistics enterprise targeting the country and ASEAN countries, achieving a historic leap of the proportion of social logistics far above that of Yuchais internal logistics within few years.
The year 2010 saw GYL make brilliant achievements. Guided by the business concept of year of management improvement, GYL strengthened business management and accelerated talent training. In March 2010, GYL launched the construction of the logistics system of the distribution supply chain, cooperated with Tsinghua University in developing the integrated supply chain logistics project, formed an integrated supply chain from purchase, stock to distribution based on Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., and established a model in the linkage of Chinas manufacturing and logistics. At the same time, GYL Nanning Park, constructed and going into operation in March 2010, gave full play to the core role in connecting the regional center of ASEAN countries and Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, thus promoting the logistics company to transform from single transport to integrated supply and contributing to the society. In 2010, GYl accomplished the transition from a cost center to a profit center with annual sales of over RMB 3 billion, adding a brilliant touch to Yuchais success in the eleventh five-year period.
According to the source, upon rigorous review by the office of the organizing committee of selection of national advanced logistics enterprises, a total of 255 logistics enterprises in the country were listed among national advanced logistics enterprises in 2010.
