On April 23, the 7th China Industry Forum was held in Beijing. With the theme of Transforming Mode, Adjusting Structure and Building High-end Manufacturing, the forum probed into the acceleration in promoting the transition from China manufacturing to China creation, thus channeling the industrial economy into a track of innovation drive and endogenous growth. The unveiling of the Industrial Men of the Year coincided with the forum. As a result, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM) was listed among Chinese Industry Model Units and Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, among Chinese Industry Pioneers.  

The forum thought, in the critical year of 2010 linking the eleventh five-year period and the twelfth five-year period, driven by strategies such as transformation and upgrading, merger and reorganization, and integration of informatization with industrialization, Chinese industrial enterprises made great progress. In the year, a large number of advanced collectives and figures of industrial enterprises made remarkable contributions to promoting the healthy and fast development of Chinas industrial economy, increasing the operation quality and benefit of the industrial economy, keeping to sustainable development and building a harmonious society.

 
In 2010, Yuchai achieved annual sales of RMB 36.8 billion, up 35.45% year on year. This was the first time that Yuchai had ranked among enterprises with annual sales of RMB 30 billion, hitting a new high. Compared with 2005, Yuchai redoubled sales in five years. The groups industry and product structures were enhanced, and core competitiveness was boosted.

In 2010, YM achieved a sales volume of over 550,000 engines and sales of RMB 16.96 billion, up 18% and 25.9% year on year respectively. This was the first time that YM had achieved a sales volume of over 550,000 engines.
