On May 4, the CYL Guangxi Autonomous Region Committee and CYL Yulin Municipal Committee held a conference to commend the advanced collectives and individuals winning Guangxi May 4th Medal. As a result, Chen Tangbiao, a young worker of Yuchai, won the 14th Guangxi May 4th Medal as the only corporate young worker.

According to the source, Guangxi May 4th Medal is the highest honor awarded by the CYL Guangxi Autonomous Region Committee and CYL Yulin Municipal Committee to youth in Guangxi, has been awarded for 14 times. A frontline worker won the medal for the first time this year. The winner is Chen Tangbiao, maintenance supervisor of the machining section of the Division of Equipment Management of No. 2 Engine Plant of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. In recent years, he has studied diligently in work, researched assiduously, made innovation, been devoted and made remarkable achievements on ordinary posts. He organized improvement in the production capacity of two production lines, remodeling of five large pieces of equipment, 128 small reforms and innovations, implementation of 80 rationalized proposals. Among the equipment remodeling projects organized by him, one won the first provincial prize, two won the second provincial prize and one won the first national outstanding award, which yielded a total economic benefit of up to RMB 15.62 million.

Also, the group led by Chen took active in Yuchais activities of quality improvement and cost reduction and control, and achieved brilliant results. In July 2010, the group was listed among Guangxis outstanding quality control group in 2010 by Guangxi Quality Association, Guangxi Federation of Trade Union, CYL Guangxi Autonomous Region Committee and Guangxi Association for Science and Technology. He successively won honors such as Yuchais advanced worker, Yuchais advanced individual in innovation demonstration and Yuchais model worker, and claimed the 12th place of the category of mechanical equipment installation in the 6th Zhenxing National Young Occupational Skill Contest in 2010, to become an outstanding representative of Yuchais young technical workers.
