On May 4, the symposium was held in Beijing to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the May Fourth Movement and commend winners of China May 4th Youth Medal and national outstanding League members, cadres and organizations. At the symposium, Ban Huawang, a young worker of Yuchai, was honored as a national outstanding League member in 2010 by the CYL Central Committee. He was among only eight winners from Guangzhou.
Ban, aged 26, is a League member, technician, field metalwork technician as well as a technical backbone in the sector of production and welding of metalwork structures. Since joining Yuchai in January 2004, he has worked enthusiastically and meticulously, made outstanding achievements and given play to the model role of League pioneers. He won a number of awards and honors such as the second prize for outstanding technical achievements of high-skill talents from small collectives of Yuchai, third place of Yulin 1st Occupational Skill Contest, award for technical masters in Yulin, award for outstanding quality control groups in Guangxi, 13th place of Guangxi 3rd Occupational Skill Contest and outstanding League members in Guangxi.
