I never thought I could see such an advanced enterprise in Yulin, Yuchai has high manufacturing level as well as advanced manufacturing equipment, level of production management and testing technology. At the Seminar on Development of Yulins High-end Equipment Manufacturing on the morning of May 8, Zhou Kesong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, praised Yuchai.

The seminar was held at Yulin Hotel, with the participation of Lu Tie, researcher of the Institute of Industrial Economics of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Jin Xiangjun, Party secretary of Yulin; Li Kemin, deputy mayor of Yulin, as well as representatives of Yulins relevant departments, parks and major enterprises. Jin presided over the seminar.

At the seminar, Zhou introduced the development, classification and applications of modern material surface technologies, hoping Yuchai could apply modern material surface technologies more often and thoroughly to manufacture better and more energy-conserving and environment-friendly products. Lu introduced the development of national equipment manufacturing industry, analyzed the factors that may affect the development of the industry in the twelfth five-year period, and offered opinions and suggestions on the development of Yulins equipment manufacturing industry. Lu thought, to gained great development, Yulins equipment manufacturing industry must advance with the times, grasp the trend of development of the global equipment manufacturing industry, and map out development strategies according with the trends of industrial development on the basis of assimilating experience and lessons from Japan and other advanced countries; should advance technical innovation and skill training synchronously, lay equal emphasis on large-sized enterprises and small & medium-sized ones, and develop technical capacity and business capacity in parallel; small & medium-sized enterprises should transform and upgrade in such aspects as business, market and management to support the development of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry; and the government should work out supporting policies to increase service standards.

Also, Zhou and Lu communicated with attendees, answering questions from Feng Jing, vice president of Yuchai Research Engineering Institute (YREI); Zhou Xiangjun, CAE director of YRIE; Zhao Baoyu, director of the Technical Department of Yuchai Huayuan Machinery (Yulin) Co., Ltd., as well as representatives of units such as Longtan Industry Park and Yulin Municipal Commission of Industry and Information Technology. Zhou and Lu pledged to provide guidance and information channels for the R & D of relevant specialties to the best of their abilities.
