According to Lu Yuanen, director of the No. 1 workshop of the foundry center, it is the first time that the company has held the contest without any experience for reference. Even so, the training center has raised high requirements of "stableness, accuracy, fastness and safety". For example, a three-ton and 11-meter ground-controlled crane was used in the contest, two meters above standard 9-meter cranes, to increase difficulty. The contest is aimed at sharpening workers' vocational skills and finding outstanding talents.
Lu Qiucheng, a contestant from the foundry, said, "I often contact ground-controlled cranes and was excited at the news about the contest, because I want to strengthen my mind and glorify myself."
Apart from the skill contest, contestants will participate in a contest on the theoretical knowledge of ground-controlled cranes, which accounts for 20% of the overall contest in respect of scores.
