On January 31, Yuchai became a sea of flaunting colored flags. The yangko band and lion dancing teams formed a jubilant picture. Banners of congratulations hang on the huge balloons in the air, which added to the happiness. In 2004, Yuchai Group won the title of "Top Industrial Enterprise of the Year 2004 of the Zhuang Autonomous Region of Guangxi" with sales revenue of 10.7 billion yuan. In order to commend Yuchai, the Municipal Committee of CPC, the Municipal Government of Yulin City and Yuchai Group jointly held a celebration meeting of congratulations on the sales revenue of over 10 billion yuan at Yuchai Donghua Stadium. Lu Hushan, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of the Autonomous Region, Li Kang, head of the office of personnel of the Autonomous Region, and leaders of Yulin City such as Gao Xiong, Jin Xiangjun, Su Ronggang, Liu Shengfu, Liu Jun, Huang Mingfu and so on as well as over 6000 workers from Yuchai Group attended the meeting. The Guangxi Branch of China Construction Bank sent a congratulatory letter for Yuchai Group's sales revenue surpassing over 10 billion yuan in 2004.
The meeting was presided over by Liu Shengfu, the assistant secretary of the Municipal Committee of CPC. The meeting first performed the ceremonies of playing the national anthem, raising the national flag, playing the factory anthem and raising the factory flag. With the anthems played, the national flag and factory flag were raised and flaunted above the stadium.
The worker representative of Yuchai Group read the success report: in 2004, under the correct leadership of the Committees of CPC and governments of all levels, by the full support of the relevant departments of all levels, all the personnel of Yuchai Group exerted themselves with great willpower and high efficiency and made outstanding achievements in the production and operation in 2004, i.e. realized a sales revenue of 10.705 billion yuan; Yuchai realized total profit payments and tax turnover of 1.068 billion yuan; it exported goods and made foreign currency of 11.2 million dollars; it turned out 241,600 diesel engines; and it also made rapid progress in such aspects as the development of new products, exporting goods and earning foreign exchange, technologic innovation, integration of advantages, diversification development and so on, therefore, Yuchai Group reported the success and expressed the cordial gratitude to the Municipal Committee of CPC, Municipal Government and relevant departments.
Wang Jianming, the chairman of board of Yuchai Group made the work report of 2004 and called for the general mobilization to continue the excellence in 2005. The chairman of board said that after the Committee of CPC and People's Government of the Autonomous Region of Guangxi held the celebration meeting for the top industrial enterprise of Zhuang Autonomous Region of Guangxi, the Municipal Committee of CPC and Municipal Government of Yulin City sat the special celebration meeting for Yuchai Group's sales revenue surpassing 10 billion yuan this day. On behalf of all the personnel of Yuchai Group, he would like to express the cordial gratitude to the Committee of CPC and People's Government of the Autonomous Region of Guangxi as well as the Municipal Committee of CPC and Municipal Government of Yulin City for their support, care and encouragement, and warmly greeted all the leaders and honorable guests present.
The chairman of board made a report, in which he detailed all the achievements gained in the three years since 2002, the opportunities and challenges in 2005, the work guideline of "shouldering the historic mission, accepting the three challenges, making innovation, gaining championship in the industry, forestalling the competitors in the world market and gaining strategic initiatives" in 2005 and the annual operation objectives of "realizing the annual sales revenue of 15 billion yuan (tax included), realizing the annual production and selling of 250,000 engines and exporting goods and earning foreign currency of 30 million dollars". The chairman of board said, the core of the objectives in 2005 is to forestall the competitors in the world market, and the core of the guideline is to gain championship in the industry. In order to grab the key points of world market, Yuchai should keep ahead and be the first in all the aspects such as quality control, emission, option, power, economy, comfort, reliability, enhancing the market demand, after sales service, supply of fittings, human-oriented management etc.. In commercial auto industry, Yuchai would win in the domestic market first, and then win in the global market.
The worker representative of Yuchai Group read the proclamation that the workers would carry forward the management concept of "to be human-orientated, to be the best and to start from the initial point", and ensure the operation objectives of "a sales revenue of 15 billion yuan, production and selling of 250000 engines and exporting goods and earning foreign currency of 30 million dollars" with stronger willpower, excellent work and cordial service. The workers are determined to "lay the foundation of Yuchai of 100 years and build a operation scale of 100 billion yuan" with a single will.
Jin Xiangjun, the mayor of Yulin, read the decision made by the Municipal Committee of CPC and Municipal Government to commend Yuchai Group's sales revenue surpassing 10 billion yuan in 2004, and awarded Yuchai Group the title of "top industrial enterprise of Yulin City" as well as a reward of 1 million yuan for Yuchai's contribution to Yulin in the economic development of Yulin especially in the three breakthroughs in the economic development.
Gao Xiong, the secretary of Municipal Committee of CPC of Yulin City, and Jin Xiangjun, the mayor awarded the tablet of "Top Industrial Enterprise of the Year 2004 of the Zhuang Autonomous Region of Guangxi" and the reward. Wang Jianming, the chairman of board of Yuchai, and Li Tiansheng, the general manager, took the tablet.

At the same time, the meeting held the opening ceremony of attracting assets of diesel engine. Li Kang, the head of the office of personnel of Guangxi, and Wang Jianming, the chairman of board of Yuchai jointly raised the curtain.
